Took my Chamonix 045N-2, with 90mm Schneider-Kreuznach Super-Angulon lens, out along the Matanuska River yesterday.
The steep banks and bluffs found along both sides of the Matanuska River throughout the Palmer Overlook Reach area, form a modern river valley.
This valley, contained within the broader Matanuska River Valley, is marked by 100 to 200 foot tall bluffs of bedrock or glacial sediment. The river’s braided plain is an average of 3,000 feet wide with active bars, lack of any vegetation.
